Hotel Mooncakes Flooding the Scene's

Mooncake Festivities are kicking into full swing.
Now Hotel Mooncakes have joined in the mooncake bazaaar with quite a few of the heavyweights - Hilton and Equatorial joining in the foray.
Unfortunately Brochures are rare and hard to get by.

For the uninitiated, standard moocakes range between RM10 to RM12 from the bakery groups but hotel mooncakes at the same size may cost up to RM 16 to RM 20. Most hotels price their mooncakes at the same price tags as the Bakeries however the sizes are generally 30% smaller.

DISCOUNT UPDATES!!! Tai Thong was the restaurant in Midvalley offering 30% off but the branch is currently closed for renovation. Also Jusco Mooncake Vouchers are SOLD OUT! but the good news is J Card members now get 15% off instead of 10%. I think it's to balance the absence of mooncake vouchers. Dang it... i should have hoarded up more when i had the chance.

HOT OFF THE OVEN NEWS, Baker's Cottage in Midvalley is selling Freshly baked Shanghai Mooncakes with Lotus paste inside. I bought one still steamy hot from the hot. ABSOLUTE YUM!

DURIAN MOONCAKE!!!! Another Fun Mooncake to try this year is Tai Thong's Durian Ping Pei Mooncake. We had one over the weekend and MoM just practically placed an order for a FULL box of them. VEry YumMMY Two Thumbs up!!!

Every year I spend a fortune mooncakes and this year doesn't look any different.
But luckily a very nice sales lady at the Six Happiness booth taught me that I can buy a RM 40 Moon Cake Voucher from Jusco at RM 37. So we save 10% by using this voucher!
Add on my faithful Jusco Card, i get another 10% discount.
So totally we get to save 20%.

For those who absolutely adore Tai Thong Mooncakes, i spotted a 30% discount at a store in Midvalley, same row with Public Bank. More updates on that soon.

Baker's Cottage

Baker's cottage is one of my all time favourite mooncake bakery for giving out presents. Not only do they have fantastically detailed packaging, they also have a huge variety of Eastern and Western Fushion as well as traditional mooncakes, even catering to low sugar content mooncakes. It is also one of the first bakeries to highlight online purchases via their own website at www.thebakerscottage.com. If you're overseas and thinking of surprising your love ones with Mooncakes, this is your best option.
